Diane White
Diane White knows everyone has a story. You. Her. The person beside you. The neighbor behind you. Everyone has an adventure, a journey, a passion.
Finding it has been her career. She has gone from an award-winning TV reporter and anchor to a premier public relations expert.
“I approach a new client like I approached a story – I want to get all the information I can about a client – their goals, dreams, what they want out of their business and their life,” says Diane. “I then look for the compelling angles that will help set them apart with their customers, their partners and the media. For me it is about building relationships that help generate the results our clients need and want.”
Diane’s grandparents were both journalists and her mother Rosa was an artist, writer and one of three women who opened the first women-owned marketing communications firm in Springfield, Missouri.
Diane earned two bachelor’s degrees – one in Broadcast Journalism and a second in Political Science - from the University of Missouri-Columbia. For 15 years, Diane worked as a TV reporter and anchor in Missouri, Colorado and Oklahoma. She won several awards and contributed to an Emmy-award winning newscast for coverage of the May 3, 1999 tornadoes.
In 2006, after being named "Best Reporter in Oklahoma" by the Society of Professional Journalists, Diane left TV reporting and went into a successful public relations career.
She has placed clients on The Today Show, Good Morning America, CNN, CBS This Morning, Fox & Friends, CNBC Show “The Big Idea” with Donny Deutsch, Inside Edition, and in Entrepreneur Magazine, Forbes and many other regional outlets.
Diane is married to David, a successful entrepreneur providing merchant services & payment solutions to hundreds of businesses nationwide. Her daughter Jameson is a freshman at the prestigious Cap 21 Musical Theatre program at Molloy College in New York. Her stepdaughter Bailey is a graduate of the University of Tulsa & lives in Houston with her sons Noah and Pierce.
Favorite place to take “Out of Towners”: I can’t pick just one.The Gathering Place and Guthrie Green top the list. I love Turkey Mountain for outdoor fun. Brookside and downtown Tulsa are great for lunch or the party scene. For restaurants - we are big fans of Mondo's in Brookside.
Favorite getaway: As much as I love the beach and visiting New York City, for me nothing tops the mountains of Colorado. I love to visit my friends in Denver and Colorado Springs (I used to live there) but my happy place is Vail. I love to ski. Although now that my daughter is in school in NYC, I will move that to the top.
What’s playing on your iPhone? My daughter keeps me “cool” by playing my the latest hits, but I am an 80’s-90’s girl at heart and love Billy Joel, Richard Marx, Jimmy Buffett, the Eagles, Rick Springfield – and lesser known artists such as Shawn Colvin. (I have a heart for quirky artists). I’m also a country fan – Keith Urban is my “crush.”
TV show you can’t miss –This is Us and now the new "Ordinary Joe" And of course "Ted Lasso" and "The Morning Show" on Apple Plus - as well as "The Problem" with Jon Stewart. I saw him ten years ago in New York and I was so excited I was the first person in line to get in. I am a news junkie and I also love to watch football – any team, any time – but am partial to the Mizzou Tigers and Denver Broncos.
Favorite Quote – It is so tough to pick just one. So – yes – I will give at least two. “A year from now you will wish you started today.” I love that. Kind of like “just do it”. Secondly, I love the Arthur Ashe quote “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can”. Finally, my grandmother and mother used to say to me “This too shall pass”. It is so true and puts problems into perspective.
